EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT - APRIL 2024

EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT - APRIL 2024

Our Employee Spotlight for April is Rental Coordinator Cynthia Lobos. Cynthia has lived in Scranton for almost nine years. She enjoys how Scranton is loud enough to remind her of big city life and how there is always an event or festival to attend. She is engaged to her fiancé, Freddy, and her entire family grew up in New Jersey. Let’s get to know more about Cynthia.

AL: How long have you been with Action Lift?

I’ve been with Action Lift 6 months.

AL: Briefly, what does your job entail?

I work with the rental department, which entails helping customers who call or email with any potential rental requests for lifts, creating their contracts, and billing them.

AL: Who inspired you to pursue the career you have today?

My family has worked hard their entire lives, and they always motivate me to push myself to succeed and never give up.

AL: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

In 5 years, I see myself with my own business for party planning.

AL: What best advice can you give someone who just started their career?

Be patient and ask questions, especially if they are entering something entirely new. Mistakes will happen, and all you can do is learn from them and not let them discourage your success.

AL: What are the most demanding challenges you’ve had at work? How did you overcome them?

My biggest challenge was learning how to sit still and work on a computer. I’ve always been on the move, and upon taking this opportunity, it was like night and day to my previous workplace. I overcame it by constantly staying busy and always trying to learn to do new things to make the workload easier on my coworkers.

AL: What’s your secret talent no one knows about?

I don’t have a secret talent; I’m just very creative and crafty. I love planning parties, building balloon arches, and setting up displays.

AL: When you are at work, how do you motivate yourself?

It’s easy for me to stay motivated because I like to keep busy. I am always looking for something to do and willing to learn new things daily.

AL: Regarding successes, which accomplishments are you most proud of?

Growing with a company and being promoted higher in the chain whenever an opportunity was presented has been a great accomplishment, as I know my hard work paid off.

AL: How have you grown professionally while on our team?

I’ve improved my ability to multitask on several daily to-do’s, having two computer screens and doing more than one task at a time.

AL: Tell me something about you that most people don’t know.

Most people don’t know I enjoy taking rides on the back of a motorcycle. It’s like viewing the world differently when you feel the wind hitting you. My next goal this year is to learn how to ride one before summer.

Thanks for sharing, Cynthia!
