Our Employee Spotlight for June is one of our newer forklift technicians, Ronnie Mirro. Ronnie lives in Hawley, where he enjoys the nature and quietness of the wooded areas. He has three pets, a snake named Firecracker, a dog named SC, and a cat named Squint. Ronnie’s family includes his father, Ronald Mirro, Sr., who runs RM Construction; his stepmother, Meg, a Regional Manager for Eastern Propane; and sister, Amber, a realtor. Let’s get to know more about Ronnie.

AL: How long have you been with Action Lift?

I have been with Action Lift for five months. I recently completed the Diesel Preventative Maintenance Technician program at Johnson College.

AL: Briefly, what does your job entail?

My job entails performing service on forklifts and getting rentals ready for customers.

AL: Who inspired you to pursue the career you have today?

The person who inspired me to make the career I am in today was my grandpa. I would help him in his garage, working on motorcycles and his Corvette from time to time.

AL: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

In 5 years, I see myself as an electrical mechanic with Action Lift.

AL: What are the most demanding challenges you’ve had at work? How did you overcome them?

The most demanding challenge I have had at work was a need for more confidence at times. I solve problems by thinking about how to get it done, and if I can’t figure it out, I ask questions.

AL: What’s your secret talent no one knows about?

The secret talent no one knows about me is that I am an excellent saxophone player.

AL: When you are at work, how do you motivate yourself?

When I am at work, I motivate myself by looking at the bigger picture and trying to be up-to-date with all equipment information.

AL: Regarding successes, which accomplishments are you most proud of?

I have grown professionally while on the Action Lift team by learning to stay calm in situations that used to make me aggravated and being more open to many ways that people do things.

AL: Tell me something about you that most people don’t know.

Most people don’t know that I grew up in the Pittsburgh/ Ohio area and spent more than half my life there! I am a big Pittsburgh sports fan—the Pirates, Penguins, and especially the Steelers.
